Deuteronomy 32:11-12 (KJV) The Christian Parent

Deuteronomy 32:11-12 (KJV)
As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.
The relationship God has with the children of Israel is unique and enduring.[1] I see in this
passage the heart of a caring parent:
  • He watches his children, lovingly providing a place for them in their youth.
  • He protects his children, providing a shield from the evils surrounding them.
  • He carries his children, transporting them here and there to those places necessary for their health and well-being.
  • He directs his children with education, advice, and discipline.
In the case of the Christian parent,
  • He raises his children in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord.
There comes a day when the children must strike out of the nest, but the parent never stops loving, caring and praying for God’s best for them.
How heartbreaking when they turn from those good designs the parents attempted to instill.

[1] His relationship with New Testament believers is equally unique and equally enduring.
