Judges 5:31 (KJV) Let All Thine Enemies Perish, O LORD

Judges 5:31 (KJV)
So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
The account of Deborah, Barak and Jael is one filled with opportunities to allow preconceived ideas to cloud the message.
There is a woman judging the people
God’s Word says nothing against this. All appearances tell us that this is of the Lord. We have to stretch the passage pretty hard to get anything else from it.
There was a man afraid to lead
It was of God for Deborah to judge. But she rebuked Barak for not leading the battle alone.
There is a gory praise of Sisera’s death
The praise concerns the enemies of God, not the enemies of men.
