Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.

I understand that the phrase, “Shochoh, which belongeth to Judah” intends to describe where Shochoh is. It is in that lot of land that was part of Judah’s inheritance. But I also see a statement of truth that the Philistines resisted. They meant to take what belonged to Judah away from them.
This disagreement with basic Bible facts is a major cause of conflict around the world even today. Bible believers accept that the land of Israel belongs to the Jews. Other peoples have gathered there. They even have armies there. But they do not belong there. That land belongs to Israel.
The Bible says so. God says so.
The Palestinians are not the only ones who disagree with the Bible. Major philosophical and political controversies occur worldwide between those leaders who believe that land belongs to Israel and those who do not. Here in the U.S. American citizens align with political parties and often elect or attempt to replace elected officials, in part whether or not they believe the Bible that the land of Israel belongs to the Jews.
I believe the Bible.
