Mark 2:27 (KJV)
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Seems like religion always puts the thing above the person. The sabbath, and I would suggest all the things of God:
- The Bible
- Prayer
- Church attendance
- Christian service
- Witnessing
- Baptism
- The Lord’s Supper
You name it and God gave it to bless man. Religion turns it around and makes these things requirements. They turn them from blessings to duties. They go from bringing happiness to being a burden.
All of these ought to be kept and observed. There is no blessing in them if they are neglected. But neither is there a blessing in them if they are forced upon a soul.
To my readers:
First of all, thank you! It is a great joy to me to know you read the thoughts and lessons God has given me in His word. Secondly, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to leave comments.
