Acts 8:27 (KJV) The Secret to Joy

Acts 8:27 (KJV)
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
What a contrast resides in the Ethiopian eunuch. Notice his privileges:
  • He had great authority
  • He had charge of the queen’s treasure
  • He had liberty to travel and explore spiritual subjects
On the other hand:
  • He was a eunuch
  • We are not given so much as his name and
  • He was under the queen
The fact is, these contradictions exist in us all. No one is an absolute authority, and everyone has some accountability.
The secret to joy in life is to use whatever liberty we have to seek a growing relationship with God and to be humble enough to be content under those authorities God has placed over us.
