Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

I cannot help but be impressed with Stephen’s knowledge of the Word of God. He did not recite the whole Old Testament, but he certainly outlined the most pertinent parts. 

Stephen was not among the teaching class and so likely had very little education. Still, he knew the Bible. I know Sunday school is a modern invention, but I could not help but think of how important it is to teach children the whole narrative of the Bible. 

The story as a whole is the story of redemption.
