And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

One of the great miracles of the Christian faith is that it grew, progressed and changed the world, despite having always been filled with the human element. 

• There were individuals, such as Ananias and Sapphira, who wished to be viewed as something they weren’t
• There were murmurings among the believers whether some were being treated better than others

I happen this week to be in Oklahoma City for the Home Missions Conference here. There are something like seventy men who have come to the conference with specific needs.[1] Those who are invited to come to the platform and present will receive an average of nearly $20,000. It really is an incredible thing.  One young man, the son of a “well connected” pastor among this group, received $40,000 last night.

The thing is, only about half of them will be invited to present their need. There simply isn’t enough time to hear from them all. Already I have heard murmurings among those who have not gotten to present. There are a few murmurers who said they stopped coming to this conference because they figured out that they aren’t in the right group to be invited up. Their impression is that this conference caters to the favored few. My observation is that they are more than generous regarding the backgrounds of the presenters. 

The point is, whenever something involves people there will be some who make themselves out to be what they are not and there will be others who complain that they were not treated fairly. 

God is able to overcome all of that and continue to save souls and change lives. 

We should be looking to Him and not men anyway.
