Romans 4:3 (KJV)
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

The answer to every question ought to begin with this, “What saith the Scripture?”

I notice that the answer to this question can be twisted by personal preference and background. 

• The Jew will be given to interpreting the Scriptures in a way that promotes his preexisting ideas. 
• The Gentiles will be likewise given. 

Paul addressed this difficulty by a thorough examination of the subject. He refused to see only one passage but considered the subject as it developed in the Word of God. 

We ought to give every subject the same thorough treatment.
