2 Chronicles 22:10 (KJV)
But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.

I observe, as I search the Scriptures, that God uses families. 

• The family of Seth narrowed to
• The Family of Noah narrowed to
• The family of Shem narrowed to
• The family of Abraham narrowed to
• The family of Isaac narrowed to
• The family of Jacob narrowed to
• The family of Judah narrowed to
• The family of David from which comes

Jesus Christ.

This caused me to consider how, in the northern kingdom, the royal family constantly changed. One could say they never had a royal family. We have in this passage an attempt to destroy the true seed royal; an attempt that could never be successful because this was the family God had chosen. 

It seems like there is always someone who attempts to break God’s family chain. The very culture of the United States seems bent on separating families. With it is destroyed the line of faith. Churches have bought into this culture to the extent that the preachers’ children (and I have come to learn this includes his grandchildren) are driven away from their parents, their church and in many cases their faith. Injured by pests in the church who constantly criticize and pick at them, the preacher’s own family is often made to not feel welcome serving the Lord in the very church they grew up in. 

I am for removing the pests, not the pastor’s family.
