2 Corinthians 3:11 (KJV) We Will Be Better

2 Corinthians 3:11 (KJV)
For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
It is very clear that the thing done away is the Old Testament law and the thing that remains is New Testament grace. Today I was reminded of the refiner’s fire how, in the furnace, the dross rises to the surface and is then removed.
It happened in the United States. The Civil War was a terrible fire. But what remained when it was over was a much greater world influence than could have been prior.
The current situation may not be the worst our world, our country or even our citizens have or will ever see, but it is certainly more dramatic than anything I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t have imagined a time when the government would force the closure of churches and the majority of Christians would agree. I do not see how we can come out of this the same as we entered it.
Here’s the good news. God is alive. This virus (and the media that has whipped it into a panic) has not caught God off guard. We will be different when this thing is over.
We will be better.
