Nehemiah 2:10 (KJV) That Sort of Greatness

Nehemiah 2:10 (KJV)
When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.
It isn’t difficult to see the sort of character Sanballat and Tobiah had is it? They were exceedingly grieved that someone had come to seek the welfare of the people.
And it should not surprise us that such men exist. The world is interested, not in the welfare of the souls of men and women, but in the expansion of their influence and power. We should be careful of those who use people. Even sound churches can succumb to the idea that building, growing and expanding the work of God necessitates and therefore justifies pushing people, using them for the sake of the work.
Greatness focuses not on what is accomplished but in the glory of God and the welfare of His people.
Greatness seeks not to lead but to serve .
Let’s focus on that sort of greatness.
