Galatians 4:16-20 (KJV)
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.
My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

There are three statements of thought I wish to consider today:
The first is the Galatians’ attitude towards Paul warnings
No doubt he had been blunt concerning his position against the false brethren that had influenced these believers. He had been quite bold in his rebuke of their allowing such teachings to influence them. Was he really an enemy for telling them the truth?

The next is the issue of zeal
That these people have earnest, zeal and passion in no way means they are of God and to be heard. It is good for a preacher to have zeal and passion. It is not good if it affects the hearer, but not well.

The third is his desire to be with them
While it was impossible for Paul to be present with them, his purpose for doing so would be their protection. In their presence, he would be able to personally drive off the evil influence. With physical presence, he would be better able to guide them in the right direction. Absent this possibility, what he wrote them would have to do. God has used it now for more than two thousand years.

I am similarly concerned right now. Having lost the possibility of physical connection with the flock God has blessed me to protect, I am concerned about those many influences that come their way through the various media. Some of these influences can put on a pretty fair show. That does not mean they influence their audience well. I do not mean to be mean spirited or hateful in any way. But I am compelled, even duty-bound to urge those under my care to only access those resources I, as their pastor, point them to.
To my readers:
First of all, thank you! It is a great joy to me to know you read the thoughts and lessons God has given me in His word. Secondly, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to leave comments.
