Job 28:28 (KJV) Wisdom and Understanding

Job 28:28 (KJV)
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
It seems to me that Job 28:7 presents the premise upon which Job builds the answer of this chapter, “There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye hath not seen.”
Job speaks of wisdom and understanding.
  • The birds of the air don’t have it.
  • The beasts of the earth do not possess it
  • The forces of nature certainly do not contain it and
  • “Man knoweth not the price thereof”
Job exhausts the resources of the reach of all earth. Wisdom and understanding are unobtainable by any natural way.
His conclusion, and it is consistent with the whole teaching of God’s word is, “Behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”
