Job 40:6-7 (KJV)
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
If I take it that the conversation between the Lord and Job to this point has been a conversation in regard to Job’s friends, then in this chapter I think God tells Job to get up, get dressed and go preach what he has learned and heard.
Job is to,
Job 40:11-12 (KJV)
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Job 40:11-12 (KJV)
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
I take it that he is to preach with passion and power so that:
- The proud are abased and humbled
- The wicked are tread down
Job cannot redeem the people he addresses. This is a work only God can do. Job, as much as any man, must confess his sin, silence himself in the presence of the Lord, and obey that which The Lord demands of him.
