Psalms 107:31 (KJV)
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
I confess that this is not the theme of every Psalm.
- There are imprecatory Psalms
- There are Psalms where the penman pours out his grief
Three times this Psalm repeats the words of verse 31.[1] In fact, the Psalm, a rather long one, is a rehearsal of God’s goodness and wonderful works.
In times of trial, a wise Christian will set aside some time regularly to rehearse the goodnesses and wonderful works of God and to praise Him for them. Even if each time is a near repeat of the time before, this rehearsal:
- Lifts the spirit,
- Puts our mind on things above and
- Improves our testimony among men
