Psalms 121:2-3 (KJV) Assurance, Comfort and Counsel

Psalms 121:2-3 (KJV)
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

There is a shift here from the first person to the second person. The penman must need help. What man doesn’t? He has sought that help from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Having received his help, he then turns his attention to the second person and begins to provide assurance, comfort, and counsel.

  • No man is capable of being a help unless he has received help from God.
  • No man, having received that help, is right with God and others unless he tries to pass it on.

To my readers:
