Daniel 3:30 (KJV)
Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

There’s no question this promotion was a huge blessing. But we must remember that it didn’t just “drop down out of heaven.” Before they were promoted, 
There was a test from worldliness 
Why the king came up with the idea of the statue, why he used it the way he did, and why there were certain Chaldeans watching to see if the Jews would bow can only be explained by Satan.

There was a test of faith
Imagine how difficult it would have been just to say No to the king. But to know that it could be life-threatening, oh, the test of faith!

There was a sentence of death
God delivered them in a miraculous manner. He can do that. Or He can deliver in a manner not seen as a miracle. Or He may choose not to deliver at all.

Then there was the promotion 
Once you’ve gone through the former you might have reason to expect the latter.
