And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Witness the arrogance of men. Being unprepared, they missed when the Lord arrived, were late for the wedding, and cried for the door to be opened for them. There was no respect for the solemnity of the occasion, there was no regard for the bride and the groom. There was no reverence for the order of authority. There was only slothfulness, selfishness, and demand.
I am so very thankful for the mercy and the grace of our Lord. But a warning must be issued in our day. This current focus on the sensitivities of men will only lead to an ever-increasing number being lost from eternity with the Lord. God is good, longsuffering, and gracious. But He is those things because He is. Men must not take them from granted.
- There is a door of salvation
- There is a Man of salvation and
- There is a day of salvation
To neglect these and ride on the expectation of grace is to condemn the soul to be lost.
