And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
I am reminded of 1 Samuel 12:23 (KJV)
Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
It is a grand thing to have a man of God who takes seriously his responsibility to pray without ceasing for the people of God.
I would suggest to you that it is of equal and perhaps greater importance that the people of God wish for him to pray without ceasing for them.
We are such a self-sufficient generation. We have come to see little reason to pray and more reason to work hard. It is true that hard work pays off. But even if great things are accomplished through such work, it is of little eternal value. It is as the chaff, driven in the wind or burnt up in the furnace.
Truly, if we would do something of eternal worth, it must be done under the anointing of the Lord.
We must therefore have someone who prays for us without ceasing.
