Job 29:2-4 (KJV) Light at the End of the Tunnel

Job 29:2-4 (KJV)

Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;
When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;
As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;

One of the signs of a healthy outlook in a time of trouble is remembering that life hasn’t always been a crisis.

Job longed for his circumstances to change. He admitted this was a very difficult time for him. But he never came to the place where he forgot that God had blessed him.

We can’t “live in the past.” I’m not advocating for that. But one step to see the light at the end of your tunnel is to remember there had been light at the beginning of your tunnel.

Job acknowledged that even in those days gone by, there had been darkness. Nothing had changed there. What he remembered is that there had been light upon his head to show him the way.

And here is a great truth to help in our own times of darkness; God has given us a light upon our head.[1] Together with the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, God’s Word will always guide a Christian’s path. Trust Him.

[1] Psalms 119:105 (KJV)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
