Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Though the passage is especially pointed toward the Jews, I believe it to have bearing for Christians as well. God gives specific instructions
on what to say to those who are going through a time of
Say to them, “Be strong, fear not.”
This is meant as more than a quick cliché. There is substance behind it.
God will come and save you
Vs 4
Then the wounded will be whole
Vs 5-6
Then the ground will be refreshed
Vs 7
Then the way will be holy – no wickedness there
Vs 8-9
Then the ransomed will obtain joy and gladness
Vs 10
Sometimes, when a person is hurting today, what is promised in the future can be a little less fulfilling. That’s why we must be reminded of it. We are strangers here. Gladness comes in the morning.
[1] – (when you feel like your work is in vain)
[2] – (when you don’t know that you can keep on)
[3] – (when your faith is waning, and your hope is darkened)
