Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.
The town clerk of Ephesus was a reasonable man.
- He was able to appease the people
- He was able to quiet the mob spirit and
- He was able to convince them to “do nothing rashly”
We could use some leadership like that these days. Unfortunately, it seems like both sides of the aisle (I know I am biased, but it sure looks like it is worse on the liberal side than on the conservative side) have little ability to appease the people. In many recent cases, it appears to me that the liberal side even attempts to stir up the controversy as the silversmiths did in Ephesus.
No wonder their false god is in danger. They’ve worked hard to build a temple of wantonness and socialism. If conservative ideals take root once again, as they appeared they would under the Trump administration, they are likely to see all they have worked for dismantled. They’re upset. They’ve shown it in such moves as to suggest the SCOTUS be targeted in their homes.
The town clerk of Ephesus would not have approved.
