Matthew 8:2 (KJV) Where Is Our Hope?

Matthew 8:2 (KJV)
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Jesus was not only willing to make this man clean but, through the chapter, provide healing and calming of storms and casting out of devils.

It is an awesome display of the omnipotent power of our Great Physician.

It occurred to me that He is still the Great Physician in those times when it is not His will. Unfortunately, we’ve experienced a few of those times lately.

Why would it not be His will to make all who ask clean every time?

  • Because we live in a corrupt world
  • Because sin still resides in the flesh
  • Because our hope is not to live forever here, but to live with Him eternally

Moments, when we realize it is not His will try our faith and make us look where our true hope is.

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.”
