For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
As far as I can see, just about nothing tests the believer’s faith more than this truth. It separates “the men from the boys,” as they say. Jesus used the term “sheep from the goats.”
Whole denominations have developed over one’s view of the return of Christ and the coming of His kingdom.
Some have thought they could put a date on it
And that despite that Jesus said we wouldn’t even know if it is morning, evening, or noon.
Some have determined it is not a literal kingdom
They believe the kingdom exists within us, and Christians should attempt to possess and control governments.
By far, the majority of professing believers just ignore the promise
It’s been two thousand years. They may not voice alongside the scoffers, but they live with the same mentality. Christ’s return, His kingdom, and the fulfillment of His plan for eternity have become irrelevant in their decision making and life choices.
Watch ye, therefore.
- Watch for Jesus
- Watch that you don’t quit watching
