Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
This is quite the conversation between Jesus, Thomas, and Philip. It begins with Jesus flatly saying they know the way. But here we have two of Jesus’s closest disciples with questions about the way.
And Jesus wonders at that.
I wonder how many modern believers have been in this way for a very long time but still have questions.
- Questions about Jesus
- Questions about God
- Questions about the way of salvation
I am convinced that many people live the Christian life carrying unanswered questions. Sometimes they quit because they haven’t found the answers. But, most of the time, I think it’s because they never asked the questions or never asked the right people.
Thomas and Philip almost waited until it was too late!
I am thankful Jesus never rebuked them for asking questions, but further taught them.
There is nothing wrong with asking questions. Especially those having to do with the Lord and our relationship with Him.
