I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
This is the work of the man of God.
He speaks to men as wise
In other words, he respects his audience. He does not Lord over them. He does not see himself as somehow better than them. He views them as the creation of God and gives them the right to judge his message.
He does not intimidate
The methods he uses are not meant to create guilt, peer pressure, or imitate sales tactics. He presents his message clearly, concisely, and plainly. He gives his audience the liberty to judge his message and come to their own conclusions.
He does not force
He applies no means of coercion. His message is not with enticing words of man’s wisdom. He uses no threats; he exercises no strong-arming. He has no government supporting him. He allows his audience to exercise their conscience.
Here’s the bottom line: we win souls to Christ in no other way. Conformity to religion is not equal to transformation by the renewing of the mind.[1]
