But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
What if they were right?
Among the Jewish sects of Biblical days were the Sadducees. The Sadducees had been “Hellenized” to such a degree that they denied there was such a thing as the resurrection. They saw their faith as of a purely temporal benefit. It would have been the same with the Gentiles of the day. It was the same as Benjamin Franklin, who openly professed a belief in the moral benefit of Christianity but not of the eternal benefit.
In this matter, Paul put his life’s work and personal testimony on the line. If there is no resurrection of the dead,
- Christ is not risen
- His preaching was pointless and
- We are in a miserable state
It’s an interesting argument. If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ isn’t risen. But Paul affirmed Christ to be alive.[a]
The one incontrovertible evidence of the Christian faith is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The gospel’s good news is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- He was seen of so many people
- He was seen so many times, and over such an extended period it cannot be argued
His resurrection was testified of all His apostles under pain of death, yet they never recanted their testimony.
In two thousand years of searching, no one has ever found a hint of a final resting place for the body of Christ.
He is resurrected. Accordingly, we all will be resurrected.
But some will be resurrected to newness of life while others will be resurrected and condemned to the Lake of fire.
The difference is faith in Jesus Christ.[1]
Trust Christ today.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
