And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
Here is the test of the preacher.
· Not that he can gather an assembly.
· Not that he can motivate others to go out and “compel the to come in.”
· Not that they love to hear him preach.
· Not that they grow to love him.
The test is whether they will believe him and do as he says.
We might have a false sense of our success in the ministry if we think we are successful in any of the above.
What I believe is a mark of success is, if when we have finished our course, there is someone who will take up the mantle and keep preaching the message until God’s Word comes to pass.
We are assured, in God’s good time, it will come to pass.
