And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.
The final chapters of Ezekiel are intriguing, indeed. Some commentaries say that the ancient Jews would not allow younger people to read the last eight chapters. Some commentaries just suggest it’s impossible to know what they mean at all.
I'm curious about the man with the line and reed. His appearance like brass suggests to me that He is the pre-incarnate Son of God - Jesus.
I'm curious about the temple He measures. It is not Solomon's temple, nor could it be either Zerubbabel's temple or Herod's. Some calculations make the circumference to be more than one hundred thousand miles. Our problem is that that we can't fathom something that we can't put somewhere on this planet. GOD is so much bigger than we that we can't accept a passage that won't fit into our finite comprehension.
There is nothing in the Bible that should ever be restricted from anyone. It's all inspired. It's all profitable. It will all equip us in our faith.
The key to the Word of God is to just remember that it is all higher than we.[1]

[1] Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
