For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
This then is a key doctrinal passage. Jesus said Moses wrote of Jesus.
Number one
The proper way to interpret the Old Testament, especially the first five books of the Old Testament, is to interpret them in light of what they teach about Jesus.
Number two
If one's interpretation of the Old Testament is not directly pointing them to Jesus, their comprehension of Jesus - who He is - is completely wrong.
Number three
If one doesn't believe Jesus - what He says of Himself - their understanding and interpretation of the Bible is completely wrong.
In other words, to understand the Bible, we must first believe that the Bible is written about Jesus and then we must believe what Jesus says about Himself and the Bible.
