Exodus 3:4 (KJV)
And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
God is looking for those who will look.
God had done a strange thing. There was a bush that was burning but wasn’t consumed.
Some people would never notice.
They’d be so busy with worldly concerns or so sunk into themselves that they would not see.
Some people would see but be unimpressed.
They’d just not care. It did not involve them. It did not make them money or hinder their way. It simply would not matter to them.
Some people wouldn’t want to be bothered.
To turn aside would be an inconvenience.
Some people would deny.
There was no way a bush could burn without burning up. It must be a lie, a trick, a ploy to keep them from their own path.
But there was one who would turn aside to see.
That was the one God called to.
You see, anyone can come to the Lord and be saved. The cross of Christ, where the blood that can never run dry was spilt, stands out for all. But it is only to those who turn aside to see that God speaks, God calls, God convicts, and God saves.
