But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
But we see Jesus.
There are many aspects of faith that are - faith. They are unprovable and unknowable, except through the testimonies of those who have gone before us. We must not discount those testimonies:
• Of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
• Of Moses
• Of David
• Of Daniel and the prophets
We have their testimonies, and we have confirmation of their accounts in the signs and miracles God did around them. We also have an innate sense that God is. We have the historical record of kings, commoners, scientists, philosophers, felons, and family men coming to know the Lord as their Savior. The testimony of others is so powerful that the Bible says faith is passed from faith to faith.
But we have more.
We have Jesus.
We have God Himself come in the flesh. He was not made in the likeness of an angel. He was made in a body of flesh, like every one of us.
And being in the flesh like us, Jesus died for us.
We see Jesus.
The record of His death and burial is beyond question. But more so is the record of His resurrection:
• Seen for 40 days
• Seen by the apostles in many appearances
• Seen by over 500 brethren at once
• Seen ascending to heaven
• Seen by Saul, a persecutor of His followers, who was immediately converted
We see Jesus.
John 14:9 (KJV):
“… he that hath seen me hath seen the Father…”
