And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Abraham was tested in some of the most extreme ways:
- He was removed from his homeland and extended family.
- He lived in a strange place, having no earthly possessions.
- He and Sarah were childless for many years—a matter made more difficult by God’s promise that he would be the father of many nations.
- He was asked to offer that child, once given, back to God.
And through it all, the Bible says he staggered not through unbelief. Not that he was sinless—far from it—but he never stepped away from his faith, his walk, or his relationship with God.
He was “fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.”
I think I see a bunch of folks today who are hopeful, wishful, that what Christians say about Jesus is true.
Don’t settle for anything less than being fully persuaded.
