Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
“That the ministry be not blamed…”
Barnes writes,
“The errors, follies, misconduct, or bad example of one minister of the gospel brings a reproach upon the sacred calling itself and prevents the usefulness of many others. Ministers do not stand alone. And though no one can be responsible for the errors and failings of others, yet no one can avoid suffering in regard to his usefulness by the sins of others.”
John Gill adds,
“The apostle knew there were persons who were waiting for all opportunities and taking all advantages to vilify and reproach the ministry of the Gospel, and so hinder its progress and spread; and that if it was once brought into contempt by the disagreeable conduct of the preachers of it, there would be but little hope of success from it.”
The ministry has always had those who took advantage, wrested the Scriptures, and sought gain for themselves. There have been, and still are, charlatans, liars, and cheats—not to mention false teachers and apostates. And of course, we understand that even among the most sincere of us, we are all fallen men, capable of, and even prone to, sin and offense.
All this compels the honest and sincere preacher, minister, and servant of Jesus Christ to be that much more diligent—that he gives no offense with which to blame the ministry.

For the Sake of the Ministry: Guarding the Gospel from Reproach
πΉ Are you living in a way that honors your calling?
The world is watching—some to learn, others to tear down. One offense can stain the testimony of many. God's servants must walk with integrity, not just for themselves, but that the ministry be not blamed (2 Corinthians 6:3).
π Take action today: Contact your pastor and ask, "How can I help protect the testimony of our church this week?" Be a shield, not a stumbling block.
π¬ Question for the comments: What’s one real-world way a believer can avoid bringing reproach to the ministry?
