Numbers 10:1-2 (KJV)
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
Trumpets are symbolic of angels in the Bible.
They also remind us of the coming of Jesus for the Christian — the rapture — just before the tribulation.
I can’t help, therefore, but see trumpets as speaking of Christ.
There are two of them.
God is one God, but He has more than one side:
- The side of holiness and the side of love
- The side of Saviour and the side of Judge
- The side of Lion and the side of Lamb
- The side of peace and the side of war
The trumpets were made of a whole piece. God is perfect — just, righteous, whole.
I’m thinking now of the instruction to make these trumpets:
- For the calling of the assembly
- For the journeying of the camps
Christians — let’s sound out the call for others to be saved and gathered into Christ’s church.
And let’s be busy teaching others what the Bible says about living day by day for Jesus!

Two Silver Trumpets — One Perfect God: Sounding the Gospel Until He Comes
The two silver trumpets in Numbers 10:1-2 carry a message for every believer today — a call to gather in Christ’s church and to go forward in faith. Just as the trumpets had two distinct purposes, our God reveals both His holiness and His love, His role as Savior and Judge, His nature as the Lion and the Lamb.
