Holding Forth the Word of Life

Philippians 2:15-16
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

We shine as lights in this world when we hold forth the Word of Life; which has two wonderful connotations.

First, Jesus Christ is the Living Word of Life.As Christians, there is nothing we may do that is a brighter testimony to this world than to hold forth Jesus Christ.
It is ours to tell the world of Him
It is ours to reveal Christ through our own living testimony and
It is ours to let Christ live through us

Secondly, the Bible is the written Word of Life
And as such we hold it forth through proclaiming it.
Both in the pulpits of the world and to every person as we meet them in our daily courses of business, we may proclaim God's Word in a way that will expose every man and woman to the light of its glorious message.

No one runs in vain who runs with the Word of God held forth
