Lessons in Ministry

1 Thessalonians 2:3 KJV
For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:

1 Thessalonians 2:10 KJV
Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

1 Thessalonians 2:11 KJV
As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,
This whole chapter is very descriptive of the ministry of the Apostle and of what our ministry ought to be.

What it was notOf deceit
Of covetousness
In guile

His ministry was upfront, honest, and for the glory of God not the praise of men

What it was
Holy
Just
Unblameable

His ministry was one of integrity. He lived what He preached. More; God had so changed him, he did not have to "fake it" this is what he was.

How it was
An exhortation
A comfort
A charge

We probably cannot do these well until the top two things are true of us. But this is the ministry and we should concentrate our ministry upon them.
