The Man With the Promises

Hebrews 7:6 KJV
But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
The Bible says of Abraham that he was the one "that had the promises." Abraham was not greater than Melchisedec, the priest to whom he paid tithes, but Abraham was, without question, a great man in that he "had the promises."

And I cannot help but want to thank God today for those promises that we too have.
We have the promise of salvation in Christ
We have the promise of closeness to God the Father
We have the promise of cleansing from our sins
We have the promise of an infallible Bible
We have the promise of a home in heaven
We have the promise of rest and peace with God

Abraham, the man with the promises, was blessed of the better. And we, who possess so many promises, are also a very blessed people.
