Luke 24:15 KJV
And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
It is has been a bright, sunny weekend (after having snow on the ground just last Sunday) and it is not difficult for me to imagine what it must have been like on that day when Jesus was resurrected.
The women had been at the sepulchre early in the morning and had found the body of Jesus missing. After the testimony of the angels that He was risen they told the apostles. Peter ran form the place where they were to the tomb and found it empty, as the women had said.
Now two of the disciples (probably one of them was Peter) were travelling to Emmaus, talking together about the events of the day. The Bible says "while they communed....Jesus Himself drew near...."
Now, we are coming together on this Sunday morning to commune together and reason concerning the things of Jesus Christ; His death burial and resurrection and what those things mean to us personally.
May Jesus Himself draw near today and
May our eyes be opened to see Him.
