Romans 14:19 KJV
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
This may be as plain a teaching for the Christian as we will find in the Bible. Simple, and straight-forward, this is Christianity 101, practical application of Christian living.
We can plug this command into any scenario of life. We may rightly decide if a move will be pleasing to the Lord and wise for the Christian to perform if we answer these two questions in the affirmative:
Does our current course make for peace?
Does this action tend to edify (or encourage, build up) another?
It is that simple. True, there are plenty of things a Christian ought to want to grow in, but these two things make day to day Christian living simple.
Now if we will just apply them.
