Hebrews 13:22 KJV
And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
Paul had finished this letter which he calls "few words." It isn't that long comparing to the volume of a book.
Its message is an exhortation.
It is not meant to be strictly doctrinal, though it certainly contains doctrine.
Its message is an exhortation.
It is meant to inspire and stir to action and faith.
This is the prayer of the man of God.
We long to see our congregation not merely hear a sermon but to receive an exhortation. We believe our work hasn't ended until those who hear have been changed through the message. I beseech my congregation weekly, "suffer the word of exhortation."
