Not Yet

Matthew 24:3 KJV
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

It has been the interest of men since the first when would be the end of the world. Scientists predict it worse than the gloomiest doomsday prophet;
  • The planet has limited resources for life and they will eventually run out
  • Species of life become extinct regularly
  • Even the sun, they say, is running out of steam and will eventually burn up

The very first Christians were as concerned for the end of the world as any modern-day environmentalist (though for different reasons) and today's Christians are forever looking at the signs and claiming these are the final days.

I am reminded that Jesus said, "the end is not yet".

I am in hopes that these are the last days. I am convinced that heaven; eternity, is far better than life now and that it is to be anticipated and longed for. I do not fear it nor do I wish to postpone it one hour.
  • I am tired of burying loved ones
  • I do not wish to hear of one more soldier dying to preserve our freedom
  • I have no heart to endure any more of the violence of madmen in planet earth
I want to see the end of this world and, so far as I am concerned, the sooner the better.

But I do not think it is wise to stop living. The end is soon but may not be even in my grandchildren's lifetime. That means I need to pray and serve the Lord and do all in my power and the Lord gives me direction to do in order to see godliness preserved.
