Psalms 61:8 KJV
So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever,
that I may daily perform my vows.
Albert Barnes says, "The whole psalm indicates a fervent desire to
be engaged in the worship and service of God; a desire to be with Him and to
enjoy His favor on earth; a confident hope that he would be permitted to enjoy
His presence forever." David saw his relationship with God to be a daily
one and viewed his practices of faith and worship as vows to be taken seriously
rather than options to be engaged in or ignored at his pleasure.
Christians would do well to view their faith in the same light.
- The duties of faith
- The teachings of the Word of God
- The exhortations to assembly, separation and
evangelism
are more than suggestions for the believer, they are the keys to success
in this life and reward in the next.
- Learn God's Word daily
- Worship God daily
- Obey His word daily
- Perform these vows daily
