Joshua 9:12 KJV The Sunrising

Joshua 19:12 (KJV)
And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia,

Each of the tribes of Israel, excluding Levi, was given a lot or a portion of the Promised Land. This verse describes in part how God describes the borders of the lot belonging to Zebulon. It contains a rather unique detail. One of Zebulon’s borders was to be obtained by coming to Sarid and turning eastward, toward the sun rising. I would assume a dead east position would give the most accurate border. But borders don't often take exactly north, south, east, or west lines.

The thing about the sun rising is that, though it would be generally the same every day, it would not be exactly the same every day. The same might be said of the Christians lot in life.
The sun rises every morning
Even so we can be certain of God's mercies toward us. They are brand new every morning.

The sun rises in generally the same direction
No matter where you are on the planet the sun rises to the east. And so we can expect that God's will for each of us is generally the same. We are to be saved, to be baptized, to serve the Lord in a local Baptist church. We are to hear from the Lord in reading His Word and to soeak to the Lord in prayer. It matters not where you live or what else your life holds, these are generally true of all believers every day.

The sun rises in a slightly different place (and time) every day
Even so no Christians life is exactly like another Christian's life. Yea every Christian may expect some changes in his or her own life. There will be changes in health, work, circumstances for all of us.

The sun rises according to the seasons
Is the rising of your sun dark and wintery just now? Take heart. Spring is coming soon.
The sun rises generally for the unsaved exactly as it does for the saved.

The difference is, in our allegory, the lost man can completely change the direction of his sun's rising by trusting Christ as Saviour. He or she have the merciful opportunity, if they will but accept it. To change their view every morning and find a new and happier place  when, at life's end, their sun finally sets.
