2 Thessalonians 3:9 (KJV)
Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
The endless depth of the Bible constantly thrills me. The Apostle Paul serves as the model for:
- The missionary to foreign fields
- The pastor serving faithfully at home
- The evangelist traveling in itinerate preaching and even
- The believer, serving the Lord in his church
Paul is such an example because he surrendered to be an example. He did not have to be. He had:
- Rights,
- Privileges
he calls it,
- Power
He surrendered that power in order to make himself an example for all the believers to follow him.
The most generous use a person of power may do with that power is to be an example.
- The person with wealth
- The person with authority
- The person with genius
- The person with fame
- The person with talent
If he or she should choose to surrender whatever is their power so that they might be an example – they have used their power to its greatest benefit of all.
