1 Peter 1:8 (KJV)
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Yet believing, ye rejoice.
The unbelieving will forever mock at this. Since they can see nothing in faith (not having faith to see) they conclude that there is nothing to faith. They conclude therefore that whatever joy, happiness and reasons to rejoice they will ever have will come of their own hard effort. But it is a vicious trap. The harder they work for it the more vested they become in finding it for themselves and the more miserable they become in their efforts.
So committed are they to their principle that there is no substance in faith that they refuse to entertain the notion.
But the believing know. There is joy unspeakable in faith in Christ.
