Daniel 9:4 (KJV) Our Stay in Trouble

Daniel 9:4 (KJV)
And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
Daniel’s prayer weaves two key principles repeatedly together:
That God is righteous
Regardless of the difficulties men experience because of His plans, He is righteous.
That we have sinned
And thus, deserve whatever is the hardship of that plan. God promises that His intentions toward us are good and not evil.[1] In times of difficulty that must be our stay.
This dichotomy of thought divides the sheep from the goats. Those who hear the voice of God accept his will as righteous and good. Those who refuse his voice reject the premise of Daniel’s prayer.
[1] Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
