John 2:23-25 (KJV)
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

- Interesting
- Thought provoking
- Terrifying
There were some who believed on Jesus’ name but Jesus did not commit Himself to them.
The promise of Romans 10:13 was not valid in their case.
- They may have called upon His name, but He had not assured them that they were saved.
- They may have come to Him but He did not guarantee them refuge.
- They may have given to Him their burdens but He did not promise to pick them up for them.
I think I have met many like this. They came to Christ with unchristian expectations and, though they know they came to Christ, they have never been satisfied in Christ. They doubt their salvation frequently and they are prone to trips into backsliding.
There is a guarantee of Salvation in Christ, but it is only for those who believe on the correct Christ and for the proper reasons.
