Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (KJV) With God, We Can Do This

Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (KJV)
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
Of all the six hundred and some laws of the Mosaic system, Moses boils it all down to these. Nothing but:
  • Fear the Lord
  • Walk in His ways
  • Love Him
  • Serve Him with all the heart and soul
  • Keep his commandments and statutes
I am reminded that we are told, 1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
This isn’t tough. It’s nothing but a few key things God is expects of His children. If we aren’t obedient it is because we love the world too much or we depend upon our own strength instead of the power of the Holy Spirit.
With God, we can do this. No excuses.
