1 Kings 13:18 (KJV)
He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

He lied to him!

• A man of God
• A fellow preacher
• A compatriot in the cause 

Lied to him!

I imagine it happens more often than we imagine.

• Some lies spring from motives that seem pure
• Some lies are told by those believing them to be true
• Some are malicious and evil

But all lies are lies. They are meant to deceive and pull us from the path we are called to take.

It can be very difficult to tell if someone is lying or telling us the truth. Therefore we have but one alternative; we must discover the truth for ourselves and stay true to that.
